In the late 1970s, she made headlines covering the illegal dumping of PCBs in Warren County, showcasing her commitment to impactful journalism. Her exceptional work led her to NBC News, where she served as a correspondent and producer for over four decades.

Throughout her career, Shauna broke barriers as the third African American in the US to become a household face in news. Her dedication to truth and storytelling has inspired countless individuals and set a standard for excellence in journalism

Personal Story

After her marriage, Shauna returned to her home state, where she and her husband nurtured a life filled with love, commitment, and family values. Their shared journey was rich with shared dreams and mutual support until an unforeseen tragedy took her husband away, leaving Shauna to face the complexities of life as a widowed mother of two. Faced with this profound loss, she drew upon her deep reserves of strength and resilience, navigating through her grief with grace. Over time, she not only managed to rebuild her life but also continued to thrive in her professional endeavors, embodying the spirit of perseverance and empowerment in all aspects of her existence.
